Long-Term Drug Treatment and Alcohol Addiction Recovery

The intensive addiction treatment a patient receives at Transitions Recovery drug treatment center is just the beginning of addiction recovery. We offer lifetime aftercare at our drug and alcohol addiction treatment center in North Miami Beach, Florida.

Lifetime Aftercare and Addiction Recovery
It can be devastating for an individual suffering from drug or alcohol addiction and their family if relapse prevention is not addressed thoroughly upon completion of a drug treatment program. Drug and alcohol addiction is a disease. All patients at Transitions Recovery drug treatment center have access to lifetime support in their continuing addiction recovery and relapse prevention.

Our ongoing support provides the long-term drug treatment that can help ensure you stay sober and realize the benefits of a full life without drugs and alcohol. You’ll experience growth and recovery throughout all aspects of your life in a lifelong journey.

Addiction Treatment and Support
Long-term drug treatment increases a patient’s likelihood of maintaining abstinence and improves personal growth. Our complete long-term drug treatment support programs do not end when primary care is completed. After residential, day, and outpatient treatment, our professional staff continues to support a patient’s addiction recovery and long-term drug treatment goals. Weekly activities at our drug and alcohol addiction treatment center help and support our patients.

Weekly group meetings are led by our experienced drug treatment and dual diagnosis team to guide patients and help them deal with obstacles and day-to-day issues that arise during long-term drug treatment and addiction recovery.

Alumni Association
We hold meetings and events for alumni of our alcohol addiction and drug abuse treatment programs. These activities provide opportunities to spend time with others who have also graduated from programs at our drug treatment center through structured activities that include patients, alumni, staff, families, and the community. Patients enjoy opportunities to help others and sponsor new patients at our addiction treatment center.

Transitions Recovery alcohol addiction and drug treatment center supports your addiction recovery every step of the way.

Long-Term Drug Treatment and Continuing Care

The definition below from the National Library of Medicine & the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Association (SAMHSA) provides an overview of the role of aftercare.

“Aftercare, or continuing care, is the stage following discharge, when the client no longer requires services at the intensity required during primary treatment. A client is able to function using a self-directed plan, which includes minimal interaction with a counselor. Counselor interaction takes on a monitoring function. Clients continue to reorient their behavior to the ongoing reality of a pro-social, sober lifestyle. Aftercare can occur in a variety of settings, such as periodic outpatient aftercare, relapse/recovery groups, 12-Step and self-help groups, and halfway houses.

Whether individuals completed primary treatment in a residential or outpatient program, they have at least some of the skills to maintain sobriety and begin work on remediating various areas of their lives. Work is intrapersonal and interpersonal as well as environmental. Areas that relate to environmental issues, such as vocational rehabilitation, finding employment, and securing safe housing, fall within the purview of case management.

Because case managers interact with the client in the community, they are in a unique position to see the results of work being done in aftercare groups and provide perspective about the client’s functioning in the community. Recent findings suggest that the case management relationship may be as valuable to the client during this phase of recovery as that with the addictions counselor (Siegal et al., 1997; Godley et al., 1994). Aftercare is important in completing treatment both from a funding standpoint (many funders refuse to pay for aftercare services), as well as from the client’s perspective.”
